The ancient sacred city of the Incas is located in the Peruvian region of Cuzco, 2,430 meters above sea level in the eastern Andes. It is estimated that its construction was carried out around the year 1450 and is considered a true masterpiece of engineering. Machu Picchu is also the habitat of insects, among them more than 300 species of butterflies, birds, mammals, including the Andean bear or spectacled bear, Cock of the Rock (National Bird of Peru), river otter, sword-billed hummingbird, Andean puma, Andean deer, Andean fox and vizcachas.

In front of the citadel of Machu Picchu appears the great mountain of Huayna Picchu (young mountain), which appears in many photographs of the Wonder of the World, this has a height of 2700 meters and there is a well marked route to climb to the top and have an impressive view of the entire archaeological complex, as well as the canyon and in general the entire natural landscape surrounding the Wonder of the World.
Every day many tourists climb the mountain before taking the guided tour of the citadel; likewise, the mountain also has archaeological samples such as terraces built by the Incas.
