In this tour we will visit the viewpoints Yanahuara, Carmen Alto and Sachaca to enjoy the views of the city and the volcanoes Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Then we will go to Cayma, known for its picanterias and the 17th century church. In the historic center, we will admire the neoclassical facade of the cathedral of Arequipa, highlighting its characteristic white tone due to the ashlar stone and to conclude we will explore the old town and traditional markets.
We will start the tour by picking you up from your hotel in Arequipa city at approximately 9:00 a.m. From there we will head to some of the best viewpoints in the White City: Yanahuara, Carmen Alto and Sachaca. At these points, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Peruvian city, with the three majestic volcanoes as a backdrop: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu.
After exploring the viewpoints, we will move on to Cayma, one of Arequipa's most authentic neighborhoods. This place is famous for its picanterias, restaurants specializing in spicy cuisine. In addition to enjoying the local gastronomy, in Cayma we will also be able to stroll through its charming streets and admire the 17th century church.
Our next stop will take us to the historic center, where we will admire the distinctive neoclassical facade of the cathedral of Arequipa, known for its peculiar white tone that is due to the ashlar stone used in its construction. In fact, this cathedral is one of the reasons why Arequipa is called the White City. During this visit, the guide will share with us more fascinating details about the history and architecture of this emblematic monument.
To conclude our itinerary, we will explore the charming old town and stop at the vibrant traditional markets of San Camilo and Fundo el Fierro. Here, you will be able to discover a wide range of typical handicraft products. After this experience, we expect to finish our excursion around 1:00 pm. If you wish, we can drop you off at your hotel or at a convenient location on the way back.
