On this day we will take a trip to the Laguna de Salinas. During the tour, you will explore the natural beauty of the region, including the flora and fauna around the lagoon and the imposing Misti volcano. You will cross an Andean forest and arrive at the Salinas Lagoon, where you can admire its white color or accumulated salt. Book now!
Our tour begins with pick up from your hotel in the city of Arequipa at approximately 06:30 am in the morning to start our journey to the Salinas Lagoon, which is located on the border of the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca.
On the way we will explore the natural beauty of the Arequipa region surrounding the Salinas Lagoon, where we will be able to observe the diverse flora and fauna. Looking up, we will admire the majesty of the Misti volcano, one of the 10 active volcanoes in the area.
During our tour, we will cross an Andean forest composed of queñuales, small trees and bushes characteristic of the area. Finally, we will arrive at the Salinas Lagoon, which if it is dry will surprise us with its snow-white color, while if it is full of water, we will be able to appreciate the great amount of salt it accumulates. This lagoon is unique in that it is home to three species of flamingos, and during our walk, alpacas and llamas will accompany us.
We will explore the surroundings of the lagoon and the Lojen volcano, as well as enjoy some relaxing thermal baths. After our hike, you will have free time for lunch before returning to Arequipa. Finally, we will drop you off at your respective hotels around 4:30 pm.
