CAMINO INCA

El Camino Inca a Machu Picchu es una de las rutas de trekking más famosas y espectaculares del mundo. Ofrece a los viajeros la oportunidad de caminar por antiguos caminos utilizados por los incas, a través de impresionantes paisajes de montaña, selva nubosa y sitios arqueológicos, culminando en la majestuosa ciudadela de Machu Picchu. Existen varias rutas del Camino Inca, pero las más populares son:

Camino Inca Clásico (4 días / 3 noches)

  • Día 1: Salida desde Cusco o el Valle Sagrado, inicio en Piscacucho (km 82), caminata hasta Wayllabamba.
  • Día 2: Caminata hasta el Paso de Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman's Pass) a 4,215 metros, descenso a Pacaymayo.
  • Día 3: Paso de Runkurakay, sitios arqueológicos como Sayacmarca y Phuyupatamarca, campamento en Wiñay Wayna.
  • Día 4: Llegada a Machu Picchu a través de la Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku).

Camino Inca Corto (2 días / 1 noche)

  • Día 1: Inicio en el km 104, visita a Wiñay Wayna, llegada a Machu Picchu por la tarde, noche en Aguas Calientes.
  • Día 2: Visita completa a Machu Picchu.

Ascent to
Machu Picchu Mountain

The ascent to Machu Picchu Mountain is a challenging and rewarding adventure, offering spectacular views of the citadel and the natural surroundings. Rising to 3,082 meters above sea level, the hike takes between 1.5 and 2 hours to ascend and 1 to 1.5 hours to descend. An additional ticket is required and must be purchased in advance due to limited availability.

The trail is steep and narrow, with stone steps, and although demanding, it is accessible to those in good physical condition. From the top, there are breathtaking panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River and the surrounding mountains. It is advisable to acclimatize to the altitude before the ascent, wear appropriate clothing, bring water and snacks, and always follow the marked trails for a safe and memorable experience.

Moderate to difficult. The ascent can be challenging due to altitude and steepness, but is accessible for people in good physical condition.

Huayna Picchu Mountain

The ascent of Huayna Picchu Mountain is an exciting and challenging experience, offering breathtaking views of the citadel of Machu Picchu from a unique perspective. Rising 2,720 meters above sea level, the hike is steep and narrow, with stretches that require climbing up stone stairs.

To access Huayna Picchu, an additional ticket is required and must be purchased in advance due to limited availability. The hike is considered of moderate to high difficulty and is ideal for people in good physical condition. From the top, hikers can enjoy panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River and the surrounding mountains, as well as explore the Temple of the Moon and other Inca constructions.
