Sillustani, 34 km northwest of Puno, reveals its majesty with an ancient cemetery of stone tombs (Chullpas) built more than 3000 years ago, offering breathtaking views of Lake Umayo and traditional agricultural systems called waru waru. On the return, a stop at a lodge in Atuncolla provides an authentic experience of local customs, culminating in an unforgettable experience full of history and natural beauty.

Full Tour Itinerary
Nuestra emocionante excursión desde Puno hasta Sillustani comienza con la recogida en su hotel en la ciudad de Puno. Luego partimos hacia el encantador pueblo de Paucarcolla, el punto de inicio de nuestra aventura en bicicleta. Durante el trayecto, pasaremos por extensas plantaciones de papa, quinua y cebada, además de explorar el pintoresco pueblo de Atuncolla con sus típicas viviendas.
Sillustani, un complejo arqueológico único, se encuentra a 34 km al noroeste de Puno, un viaje en carretera que nos llevará aproximadamente 50 minutos. Al llegar, seremos recibidos por la majestuosidad de este lugar: una península que alberga un antiguo cementerio con las impresionantes tumbas de piedra, conocidas como Chullpas, construidas hace más de 3000 años por los líderes religiosos kollas e incas para sepultar a sus gobernantes. Con algunas Chullpas alcanzando hasta 12 metros de altura, nos maravillaremos ante más de 90 tumbas de diversas formas y tamaños.
La vista del lago Umayo desde las alturas de las Chullpas añade una belleza incomparable al paisaje. A sus orillas, podremos observar los sistemas agrícolas tradicionales llamados waru waru, plataformas rodeadas por canales de agua que crean un microclima especial para proteger los cultivos contra las heladas. Esta técnica, desarrollada por la cultura Pucara, demuestra la ingeniería ancestral de la región.
Durante nuestro regreso a Puno, haremos una parada en una casa de campo en el pueblo de Atuncolla. Aquí, tendrá la oportunidad de sumergirse en las costumbres y tradiciones de la población local, los Kollas, cuyas casas de piedra, arcilla y paja reflejan la autenticidad de su estilo de vida.
Finalmente, retornaremos a la ciudad de Puno dejándolos en su Hotel, culminando así una experiencia inolvidable llena de historia, cultura y belleza natural en los alrededores de Puno, Perú.
