DAY 1
Our adventure begins very early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 5:00 a.m. to begin the journey to the picturesque village of Pitumarca, where we will enjoy a delicious typical Andean breakfast. After a short break, we will continue our journey towards Lake Sibinacocha, one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in the Vilcanota mountain range, surrounded by mountains and turquoise reflections. Then we will head to the Phinaya Valley, a small and quiet Andean village located at more than 4,700 meters above sea level, where we will stop to enjoy a picnic lunch with spectacular views of the Quelccaya Glacier, the largest tropical glacier on the planet.
In the afternoon, we will take a walk of approximately one hour to reach the viewpoint near the glacier, from where you can contemplate the immense ice sheet and the contrasts of its natural environment. At the end of the walk, we will set up camp, where we will enjoy a hot dinner under the starry sky of the Andes and spend the night in an environment of total connection with nature.
DAY 2
At 5:30 a.m., we will start the day with a hearty breakfast at base camp, surrounded by breathtaking Andean scenery. Then, we will begin our hike to the Quelccaya Glacier, a journey that will take us approximately 30 to 40 minutes. During the hike, you can enjoy the tranquility of the highlands, observing crystal clear lagoons, small streams, snow-capped mountains, and vicuñas and alpacas grazing freely in the area.
Upon arriving at the glacier, you will have time to explore this majestic ice sheet, considered the largest tropical glacier in the world. Here you can take pictures, admire the ice formations and natural caves, and feel the purity of the environment in one of the most remote and amazing landscapes in Peru.
After this unique experience, we will return to base camp to enjoy a restorative lunch. Finally, we will begin the return trip to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m., thus culminating an unforgettable adventure among mountains, lagoons, and glaciers.
