Our tour starts early, with an 8:00 a.m. pick-up at your hotel in Cusco. First we head to the town of Maras to visit the salt mines. During this tour we will observe the Vilcanota Mountain Range and its impressive snow-capped peaks that extend throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then we will head directly to the impressive salt mines, also known as the "salt mines". Here, we will witness some 3000 small wells, which during the dry season are filled or "irrigated" every 3 days with salt water emanating from a natural spring located at the top of the wells so that, as the water evaporates, the salt contained in it gradually solidifies.
After exploring the salt pans, we will head to Moray to visit its agricultural center. Here, we will learn more about the innovative agricultural techniques used by the Incas and how they contributed to the development of their civilization.
Finally, our tour will come to an end around 2:00 p.m. in the historic center of the city of Cusco, where you can continue exploring on your own or return to your accommodation.

Moray is a very peculiar archaeological complex due to its unique design of concentric circular platforms. These terraces served as an experimental agricultural laboratory during the Inca Empire. It is believed that the layout of the terraces and their strategic location created different microclimates that allowed experimentation with a variety of crops. The view from Moray is spectacular, with the terraced terraces creating a geometric pattern in the landscape.
