Experience Details

We will start our tour by picking you up at your hotel at 08:00 am and thus begin a fantastic tour of the most important tourist attractions that the southern valley offers us. We begin in Tipon, a beautiful set of agricultural terraces, we will appreciate the beautiful water sources and aqueducts, which continue to pour the liquid from subway channels, evidence of the great Inca hydraulic development.

Just as in ancient times these waters were worshiped in the pujyus or springs, later we will visit the archaeological complex of Pikillaqta, which literally means "city of fleas". It is an ancient walled citadel of the Wari Empire. It was one of the most important regional centers of the Wari culture in its expansion towards the city of Cusco.

Finally, we visit the temple of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas also known as the Sistine Chapel of America, inside which is an impressive collection of canvases with frames bathed in gold leaf and mural paintings, sculptures carved in baroque inspiration, in the return to the city of Cusco, we will pass through several villages such as Huacarpay, Oropesa, Huasao and Saylla, who offer a gastronomic circuit with typical dishes of the Cusco region. Ending our tour in the historic center of Cusco.

HIGHLIGHTS & INFO

Places You Will Visit

Tipon

Tipon, located in the Southern Valley of Cusco, is famous for its impressive agricultural terraces and its advanced hydraulic system, which is still in operation. These terraces show the skill of the Incas in agricultural engineering and water management. In addition to the terraces, the site has fountains and aqueducts, probably used in ceremonies and rituals.

Tipon

Pikillaqta

Pikillaqta, also in Cusco's South Valley, is an ancient walled citadel built by the Wari culture. The Quechua name, which means "city of fleas," is enigmatic in its meaning. The extensive ruins reveal that it was once an important administrative and ceremonial center. It is a testament to the cultural diversity of the region before the arrival of the Incas.

Pikillacta

Andahuaylillas

Andahuaylillas, a town in the South Valley, is home to the Temple of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America." Built during the colonial era, its modest facade contrasts with a richly decorated interior. Inside, visitors marvel at the collection of mural paintings, baroque sculptures and altarpieces adorned with gold leaf, reflecting the cultural fusion of Peru's colonial era.
