Overview Ausangate Trek

DAY 1

Route : CUSCO - TINKI - PACCHANTA - 7 LAGUNAS - PACHASPATA

On this first day we depart from Cusco to Pajchanta, where we enjoy the hot springs before starting our hike to Pachaspata. Along the way, we pass by the impressive 7 Lagunas, marveling at their natural beauty.

Route: PACHASPATA - JHAMPA PASS - JHAMPA PAMPA - HUCHUY PHINAYA

We will start our trek early in the morning to the Jhampa Pass, from where we enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains. Then we descend to Jhampa Pampa and continue to Huchuy Phinaya, where we spend the night.

DAY 3

Route: HUCHUY PHINAYA - PALOMANI PASS - AUSANGATE QOCHA - ANANTA

We start the day ascending to the Palomani Pass, the highest point of our journey, and admire the majesty of Ausangate. We descend to Ausangate Qocha and then arrive at Ananta camp to rest.

DAY 4

Route: ANANTA - 7 COLORS MOUNTAIN - ANANTA - CHILLCA PASS - YANA QOCHA

For this day we will explore the famous 7 Colors Mountain and enjoy breathtaking views. In the afternoon we will return to Ananta camp and then head towards Yana Qocha, marveling at the views of the Chillca Pass.

DAY 5

Route: YANA QOCHA - ABRA ARAPA - UPIS - CUSCO

Arriving at the end of this wonderful tour we will say goodbye to our expedition partners and walk to Upis, where we enjoy the hot springs. After the last lunch together, we say goodbye to the team and return to Cusco, taking with us unforgettable memories of this incredible adventure.

A new adventure awaits for you, Ausangate is one of the spiritual routes, of magical-religious character due to the presence of the Vilcanota Mountain Range where the highest snow-capped mountain of Cusco, the APU AUSANGATE (6372 masl), the protector god in the Peruvian Andes, imposes itself. During the tour you have the presence of llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas, complemented by the presence of human groups. DAY 1

Route : CUSCO - TINKI - PACCHANTA - 7 LAGUNAS - PACHASPATA

Welcome to your first day of the incredible 5 day Ausangate trek adventure with Andino Peru Tours. Our specialized trekking guide will be waiting for you at your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 a.m. to start this exciting journey. We will head out in a comfortable private van to the community of Pacchanta, a journey of approximately 3 and a half hours, before immersing ourselves in the trek, you will have the opportunity to relax in the soothing hot springs of Pacchanta, preparing you for the day full of emotions that awaits us.

At 12:00 p.m., it will be the perfect time to enjoy the exquisite dishes prepared by our talented local chef, a gastronomic experience you won't want to miss, by 1:30 p.m., we will begin our hike to Pachaspata camp, a breathtaking 3-hour hike that will take us through amazing landscapes and breathtaking nature. Once in Pachaspata, located among majestic snow-capped peaks, you will be able to marvel at the scenic beauty and enjoy a spectacular sunset over the mountains.

Don't forget to admire the famous and dazzling 7 lagoons during our tour, an experience you will remember forever!

DAY 2

Route: PACHASPATA - JHAMPA PASS - JHAMPA PAMPA - HUCHUY PHINAYA

On this day we will start early, at 5:30 a.m., our cook will wake you up with a comforting hot drink to prepare you for the day. At 6:00 a.m., you will enjoy a delicious outdoor breakfast prepared by our talented local chef. When 7:00 a.m. arrives, we will begin our hike to our first destination, the impressive Jhampa Pass, which rises 5,010 meters above sea level. From this point, you will witness incredible panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains.

Around noon, we will arrive at Jhampa Pampa, where another delicious lunch awaits us to recharge our batteries and enjoy a well-deserved rest. We will then continue our hike at 1:00 p.m., heading towards the Huchuy Phinaya camp. During this stretch, we will cross a beautiful landscape full of llamas and alpacas that will leave you in awe. Around 4:00 p.m., we will arrive at Huchuy Phinaya, where we will be greeted by breathtaking scenery with views of the majestic Vilcabamba Mountain Range. By 5:30 p.m., we will enjoy a hot beverage followed by a delicious dinner, and we will settle into camp, ready to rest and recharge our batteries for the next day.

This day promises to offer spectacular views and an unforgettable experience as we explore the natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes.

DAY 3

Route: HUCHUY PHINAYA - PALOMANI PASS - AUSANGATE QOCHA - ANANTA

We will start early at 5:30 a.m., when our cook will wake you up with a comforting hot drink to prepare you for the day. At 6:00 a.m., you will enjoy a second breakfast prepared by our expert local chef, ensuring you have the energy you need for the day. Early in the morning, we prepare for a challenging and rewarding day as we head towards Palomani Pass, the highest point on our route, rising to 5210 meters above sea level. Here, we will witness breathtaking views of the region, an experience that will leave us in awe. Around noon, we will arrive at the beautiful Ausangate Qocha, where a well-deserved lunch awaits us to recharge our batteries and enjoy a well-deserved rest before continuing our journey to the Ananta camp, also known as Auqui. Here, you will have the opportunity to rest and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings as we prepare to share experiences of the day by gathering for a hot drink at 5:30 p.m. Then, at 6:30 p.m., we will have dinner and prepare to rest, ready for the adventures that await us tomorrow.

This day will take you to the foothills of the majestic Ausangate Mountain and offer you the opportunity to reach the highest point of the entire Ausangate trek, the Palomani Pass. In addition, you will have the opportunity to explore the enchanting red lagoon (Pukaqocha) and enjoy the serenity of Ananta as you immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes.

DAY 4

Route: ANANTA - 7 COLORS MOUNTAIN - ANANTA - CHILLCA PASS - YANA QOCHA

We will start early at 5:00 a.m., when our chef will wake you up with a comforting hot drink to prepare you for the day, followed by a delicious breakfast at 5:30 a.m. At 6:00 a.m., we will begin our hike to one of the most anticipated destinations of this experience: the impressive 7 Colors Mountain. For approximately 2.5 hours, we will hike through a captivating landscape until we reach the lookout point of the mountain, where you will enjoy an incredible panoramic view and have the opportunity to capture unforgettable photographs. Around 10:00 a.m., we will start our return to Ananta camp, where we will arrive at approximately 12:00 pm, our chef will welcome us with a succulent lunch to recharge our batteries and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

After recharging our batteries around 1:30 p.m., we will continue our journey to the Yana Qocha camp, also known as Laguna Negra. During this stretch, we will witness the amazing natural beauty that surrounds us, with breathtaking views from the Chillca Pass or Condor Pass, where the colorful lagoons and the majestic Ausangate Mountain will leave us in awe. Arriving at camp around 4:30 p.m., we will gather to enjoy a hot drink and share our experiences of the day. Finally, at 6:30 p.m., we will feast on a delicious dinner and prepare to rest, ready for the adventures that await us tomorrow. This day promises to be exciting and full of breathtaking views, offering you the opportunity to explore the iconic 7 Colors Mountain and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes.

DAY 5

Route: YANA QOCHA - ABRA ARAPA - UPIS - CUSCO

We will begin with a final comforting breakfast at 5:30 a.m., preparing to complete the last stage of our journey. At 6:00 a.m., we will embark on the exciting last part of the 5-day Ausangate Trek. For approximately 4 hours, we will enjoy a leisurely hike to the community of Upis, where we will arrive around 10:00 a.m. Before our last lunch, we will have the opportunity to relax in the hot springs of Upis, providing a well-deserved rest after our days of adventure. Around noon, we will enjoy our last lunch, sharing pleasant moments with our expedition team.

After lunch, we will gratefully say goodbye to our team, including our muleteers and cook, who have been a fundamental part of our experience. Finally, we will head in our private transportation back to the city of Cusco, in a trip that will take approximately 3 and a half hours. We will arrive in the city between 17:00 and 18:00 hours, taking with us the unforgettable memories of this unforgettable adventure in the Peruvian Andes.

Hiking times are according to the group's physical condition. The guide can change the lunch and camping places according to the physical conditions of the group. Each guide has a different way of leading their groups, but always taking decisions for the benefit of the tourists. AUSANGATE, this circuit is an adventure tour that we have to enjoy it, to the maximum with good weather or not, you always have to be very well, with an open mind, good mood.

TINKI

Tinki is a small village located at the foot of the imposing Ausangate mountain, from where the exciting trek begins. It is a traditional Andean enclave where its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture, raising alpacas and accompanying mules for hikers who undertake the trek.

PACCHANTA

7 LAGOONS
