A hike of adventure and history by one of the alternative routes offered by Peru "Choquequirao Trek".
The archaeological group of Choquequirao is also considered as the second Machu Picchu, also known as the lost city of the Incas and is located in the foothills of the snowy Salkantay over 3030m, on the left side of the Apurimac River. At the time of the Incas, they were roads of communication with Machu Picchu by a complex network of trails. The fantastic nature, with valleys, snow-capped mountains and a great variety of plants, coffee and banana plantations, birds, sometimes Condors can be observed on the way and animals will make this trek an unforgettable adventure.
DAY 1
We will start early from Cusco to San Pedro de Cachora, where we will enjoy breakfast before starting our hike to El Mirador Capulichayoc, from where we will observe the Apurimac Canyon and the Apurimac River. After lunch, we will descend to Chikisca to set up our camp and spend the night.

We continue our way to a place called Capulioc.
Start of the hike with descent to the area of Chikiska.
Free time for lunch and recover energy from our hike.
Descent to Playa Rosalinas and again ascend to our first campsite in Santa Rosa Baja.

We start our hike towards Marampata, from here we have a wonderful view of the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.
Free time to enjoy the view that offers us and where most of the things will stay since it will be our camp.
We continue our experience towards Choquequirao.

We begin the descent to the Pajchayoc waterfalls. And then return to our campsite in Marampata.

This will be our most comfortable day since we will be able to rest more, we start the morning with the descent to Chiquisca.
Free time to enjoy our varied lunch and we have the afternoon free to enjoy the surroundings and finally this will be our camping place.

We start the hike to the Capulioc viewpoint where we will finally say goodbye to our support team and head to our waiting vehicle.
Return trip from Capulioc to Cusco.

DAY 1
A new adventure awaits us, at 5 am we pick you up from your hotel located in Cusco, we will travel in our private transportation which will take us to the town of San Pedro de Cachora (2800masl), the trip will take us three hours approximately, where we will have some free time to enjoy a succulent breakfast. Here we meet the rest of our travel team (cooks, muleteers and horses). We begin our hike that will take us between 6 to 7 hours.
Finally after a moderate hike we arrive at El Mirador Capulichayoc, from where we will be able to observe the deepest canyon in the world known as the Apurimac and where the majestic Apurimac River flows. It will be here where we will have our first lunch and from where it is possible to have the first views of Choquequirao. After lunch we descend for an average of 3 hours to CHIKISKA 1800 masl, where our camp is established, after an afternoon of relaxation we will spend the night surrounded by a majestic landscape near the canyon of the Apurimac. Night in Chikisca.
DAY 2
Very early, after enjoying breakfast, we will begin our walk uphill for 4 to 5 hours at a slow pace, we will be arriving at the lunch point, place that will also be our second camp in Marampata 2950 masl, from this place we will have a beautiful view of the canyon and the Apurimac River, after lunch we will have our guided tour to one of the most important tourist attractions of Peru which is Chokequirao "Cradle of Gold" which is also considered as a sister city of Machu Picchu, as there are several similarities.
Choquequirao is located 1500 meters above the Apurimac Canyon. Machupicchu is on the Urubamba Canyon. They are at the same latitude and is considered one of the main cities of the Inca period, Choquequirao with more than 8 hectares, where only a third has been discovered and where every day archaeologists find something more of interest. We will observe the three levels of the ruins found, where we will be able to appreciate the urban sector, agricultural terraces and the religious sector of this Inca City.
We will also have great options to appreciate the flight of the Condor, after the visit to Choquequirao we will return to our camp to enjoy a delicious dinner.
DAY 3
This day we will start very early, after a good breakfast we will begin to descend in the same way that we ascended with great care and at a slow pace, until we reach our camp which is located in the town of Chiquisca. We will have lunch halfway in Playa Rosalina, after lunch we will continue with the hike and begin to climb to our camp in Chikisca. Overnight in Chiquisca.
DAY 4
This day we will wake up very early at 06:00 am, first we will have breakfast accompanied by the first rays of the sun that rises over the Apurimac canyon. After breakfast we will start our hike at a moderate pace until we arrive to Cachora which will be between 5 and 7 hours approximately, everything will depend on your physical condition, we will have lunch halfway in Capulichayoq. Upon arrival to Cachora we will take our private transportation that will take us back to your hotel in Cusco.

Chikisca is a resting and camping point on the trekking route to Choquequirao in Peru. It is located in the province of Abancay, Apurimac. It is a place where hikers can spend the night and relax after a day of trekking, enjoying a stunning natural environment.
Choquequirao, an archaeological site in the Peruvian Andes, is known as the "sacred sister" of Machu Picchu. Built by the Incas in the 15th century, this complex has agricultural terraces, temples and dwellings spread over 1,800 hectares. Although less visited than Machu Picchu, it offers a remote and less crowded experience.
Marampata is an area where hikers can rest and spend the night during the trek. In addition, from Marampata you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the archaeological center of Choquequirao and the surrounding natural environment.
Playa Rosalina is a private area, equipped with restrooms and showers for your comfort. This refuge offers a quiet place to rest and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds it. It will also be our lunch spot during the trek to Choquequirao. It is located on the banks of the Apurimac River, providing a serene environment for hikers.
