DAY 1
Our 4 day trek to Machu Picchu begins at 5:30 am where we will pick you up and start this tour. We will travel by bus to the starting point making a sequence of stops at viewpoints and interesting aspects to take advantage of the beautiful scenery to the Inca Trail checkpoint at km 82.
Lunch in Miskay. Beginning of the hike passing by the archaeological site of Patallacta and arriving at the end to Wayllabamba (camping site).
DAY 2
(Breakfast, lunch, tea time and dinner). In the morning we will start the hike until we arrive to Pacaymayo, then we will arrive to Warmiwañuska (dead woman). In this place we will take a break where you can see beautiful landscapes. We will descend from Pacaymayo to have lunch and replenish our energy. Overnight camping in tents in Pacaymayo.
DAY 3
(Breakfast, Lunch, Tea time and Dinner). The third day will be the most beautiful of this trek to Machu Picchu. We will descend to the Runcurakay pass (3970 masl), we will have lunch in Sayacmarca.
We will pass through tunnels of solid rocks along the way to reach the city among the clouds "Puyupatamarca", a place of great fog. Then we descend to reach Wiñayhuayna (2700 masl). Overnight camping in tents in Wiñayhuayna.
DAY 4
(Breakfast) Early in the morning we will start our trek to Machupicchu. We will start our hike to Intipunku and see the sunrise (sun gate). In this incredible place you can see Machu Picchu.
In Machupicchu we will have a guided tour of the entire citadel, after this incredible adventure we will return to Ollantaytambo station upon arrival our staff will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco. Thus ending our Inca Trail Tour to Machu Picchu.
The quotas for the Inca Trail is issued by the Peruvian government through DRC (Regional Directorate of Culture), remember that there are only 500 quotas per day and for all travel agencies of it approx. 180 are tourists the rest are support staff such as guides, cooks and porters, so we recommend booking many months in advance.
If there are no available spaces, you can opt for our Inca Trail excursion 2 days 1 night, there are still spaces available and we have daily departures.
DAY 1
This adventure begins with your pick up at the hotel at 4:30 a.m. and we head to Km82 arriving at approximately 07:00 am, there you will have some time to make the last adjustments and immediately start our hike passing through the first checkpoint of the Inca Trail. The first two hours of hiking are relatively easy until we reach the first Inca site called Patallacta, an ancient checkpoint to Machu Picchu.
Once in Patallacta, we begin another two-hour hike where we will enjoy a delicious lunch, then we will walk for another two and a half hours until we reach the town of Ayapata, where our first camp will be located. During this last stretch, we will pass through two small communities, where you can buy some drinks or energizers, cookies, or some essential items such as batteries that you may have forgotten.
We will arrive at our first camp at approximately 17:00 pm, where we can settle in, relax and have a hot drink and a snack. At 19:30 pm dinner will be ready, and then we will have a well-deserved rest. Night in Ayapata.
DAY 2
Very early in the morning we will have breakfast and we will make a first hike of approximately four hours to the highest pass called Paso de la Mujer Muerta located at 4215 m.a.s.l. At the pass we will stop to take a brief rest and enjoy the flora and fauna that surrounds the valley as well as the wonderful landscapes and snow-capped mountains of the Peruvian Andes, and immediately begin our descent to the next point, the Pacaymayu Valley or hidden river, and then start a walk for an hour and a half through the side of the valley to the place of lunch, where you can recharge your batteries to continue with the hike.
After lunch we begin to ascend for approximately two hours at a slow pace until we reach our second pass of the hike, the Runcuraccay pass, where we will see two huge waterfalls on the opposite side of the valley. After the second pass, we will hike downhill for an hour until we reach the magnificent Inca site of Sayacmarca, where we will stop to rest and make a brief visit to the archaeological site of Sayacmarca, and watch the sunset over the Vilcabamba mountain range. Finally, we will hike for 20 minutes until we reach our second campsite called Chaquiccocha located at 3600 meters above sea level.
After dinner, we will be able to look at the stars and the fascinating Inca constellations. We will spend the night in Chaquiccocha.
DAY 3
Very early in the morning we will have breakfast and we will make a first walk of approximately four hours to the highest pass called Paso de la Mujer Muerta located at 4215 m.a.s.l. DAY 4
The most awaited day of the trek has arrived, and the time to wake up will be at 3:30 a.m. After breakfast we will walk towards the checkpoint to be one of the first to start the trek when the gates open at 5:30 a.m. Once at the Sun Gate or Inti Punku, we will have spectacular views of the mountains surrounding Machu Picchu in all its splendor. And immediately we begin a one hour hike to Machu Picchu.
As we get closer to Machu Picchu, the views towards Machu Picchu get better and better. At approximately 7:40 am we will arrive at the final check point and enter Machu Picchu to begin our guided tour for approximately two hours. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu freely.
In the afternoon we will board the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have time to have lunch and visit the town, at the appropriate time we board the train back to Ollantaytambo station, and in Ollantaytambo station we will have staff of the agency that will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
